About Director/Founder of EMM:
Mireille Murad might look like your typical twenty-something year old, but to think of her as such would undermine her advanced wisdom, maturity, and ambition. With a drive that sets her apart from most of her peers, Ms. Murad plans on restructuring the modeling industry as we know it and bringing things back to the basics, or their element.
Element Model Management existed long before the title of the agency had officially been coined. What started as a discussion amongst Georgia Tech fellow classmates quickly became the building blocks for the inspiration behind Element Model Management. The goal behind Ms. Murad's first creation was to host a benefit fashion show, for children with disabilities, including but not limited to children with autism. The benefit was titled Fashion F.O.C.U.S. and spotlighted the Atlanta charity organization "Families Of Children Under Stress." Ms. Murad wanted to showcase other attractive people at Georgia Tech who were not only interested in modeling, but also interested in helping raise awareness and donations for smaller organizations with great causes. At Georgia Tech, where the female ratio is only 30% of the entire school's population, it wasn't easy finding girls who were model-ready. However, between her dedication to Fashion F.O.C.U.S and her willingness to help jumpstart modeling careers, word quickly spread and male and female college students started to approach Ms. Murad.
Fashion F.O.C.U.S. quickly became the driving force behind Ms. Murad's determination to change certain aspects of the modeling industry. She figured the best way to have your goals come into fruition was to create your dream from scratch, and so she did with Element Model Management. Ms. Murad wanted an agency that cared about helping and donating to small charity organizations while still being a reputable and top-notch agency with high-end clientele. Her focus was to avoid being noted as a typical agency and instead be a respectable model development agency noted for its personal touch. From her vast experience being a model herself, Ms. Murad was able to see firsthand what she didn't want to incorporate as practices in her agency. She felt it was important to focus on caring for her models and being a friend rather than only concentrating on measurement standards and looks.
Ms. Murad hopes to take her agency, Element Model Management, to the next level of success in the years to come. In the growing Atlanta market, she is focused on creating diversity in each of her models career paths. She hopes to have her high fashion models also incorporate commercial, print work and/or acting into their repertoire, and likewise have her talents in the other divisions gain exposure in the divisions they are not used to working in. Element Model Management will branch out into different talent, including fashion, commercial, and acting, featuring her men, women, teen, children, and sophisticate clients. In what she calls a female dominant market, she wishes to get great jobs for her models and have them reach the pinnacle of success under her tutelage.

EXAMINER: Element Model Management Emerges from Georgia Tech Fundraiser Atlanta Small Business Examiner.com article by Sam Dobrow 9.12.2009
..."She would build an agency that provided models with the coaching she wanted as a young model. "Most agencies just expect a model to know what to do-they don't take the time to develop a model. " But developing a model is a big
investment so she can't take every model under her wing and coach them
to success. They have to be committed to modeling as a career. "It
doesn't happen overnight. Being a successful model requires a lot of
discipline. They need to get their body in shape, learn how to pose,
work the catwalk, dress like a model, and they need to build a balanced
portfolio." Models must invest in photography to build a portfolio and
comp card with 5 key shots: head shots, lifestyle, fashion, body shots,
and dress. "That can cost quite a lot of money as well as time."...read more
