Carré Otis was born San Francisco, California and began her career
in
modeling at age 14. Her big break came when she
landed the cover of American Vogue, which garnered her international
exposure. High profile campaigns for Guess, Calvin Klein, Revlon and
Donna Karan followed. She was soon being photographed by the world’s
most famous photographers including Richard Avedon, Bruce Weber, Herb
Ritts, Patrick Demarchelier and Irving Penn. Carré graced the covers of
hundreds of magazines including Elle, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Since
2003, Carré has traveled the country speaking to schools and
private treatment centers on eating
disorders and related body image issues. She has appeared as a guest
and expert commentator on numerous talk shows including 20/20 with
Diane Sawyer, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, 360 with
Anderson Cooper, and The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch to raise awareness
about eating disorders as an Ambassador for The National Eating
Disorder Association.In 2005 Carre married Environmental CEO Matthew
Sutton.
